Why I’m Rebranding

by Heather Wolfson, CEO & Lead Strategist, Maven Leadership Consulting

How does exceptional leadership show up?

This question has served as a guidepost throughout my 20 years of senior-level leadership.

It has informed hundreds of corporate leadership training sessions that I’ve hosted for national and international companies. It has been foundational for securing multi-million dollar donations and grant funding for the nation’s leading nonprofit organizations. And it was the question I asked myself when I decided to found Maven Coaching & Consulting in 2019.

A lot has happened since 2019 — namely, a global pandemic that has already ignited a foundational shift in organizational leadership. The long-lasting repercussions of which are still unclear.

What is as clear today as it has been since the days of three-martini lunches is that all exceptional leaders know how (and when) to adapt.

To rise to meet the changing tides of corporate leadership development, Maven Coaching & Consulting also must adapt.

How? With a new name, for starters. As of October 2022, Maven Coaching & Consulting is being rebranded as Maven Leadership Consulting.

The language change isn’t about semantics. Maven Leadership Consulting signifies integrity, passion, growth, empowerment, and resilience as we show up in the world for others as for ourselves.

Maven’s mission is to give leaders the tools and frameworks they need to create meaningful change within their organizations while identifying their purpose and developing an impact plan to achieve success — however, they define it for themselves.

A new list of services has been added to meet this lofty mission statement.

  • Maven-Suite: An immersive cohort-based experience designed for career-driven women who want to develop leadership skills to navigate the growth and transformation required to become truly confident, thriving leaders.

Of course, I’ll continue to offer custom coaching, consulting, training, and facilitation services that have been core to my work over the last three and a half years. All these services start with a complimentary consultation.

BEHIND THE REBRAND

Why now? The truth is that Maven Leadership Consulting is the culmination of a two-decades-long career learning leadership lessons both as an employee and a senior management executive.

A leadership fellowship opportunity early in my career woke me up to the power of getting clear on our priorities so we can focus on what matters most without feeling exhausted and overwhelmed.

A truth that empowered me when I became a mother navigating the topic of women in leadership and the two narratives it tells. First, women can't have a fulfilling career and a thriving home life.

The second is the ever-popular "Lean In" advice. Popularized by Sheryl Sandberg, "Lean In" focused on encouraging women to pursue their ambitions and changing the conversation from what we can't do to what we can do.

These ideas are extremes, which is why most exceptionally talented, hard-working female leaders and mothers I consult with are still wholly burnt out.

Not just burnt out but disillusioned and stuck, thinking there must be something wrong with them when neither narrative fits their life's aspirations.

Maven aims to change the conventional conversation about corporate success. Because the truth is that women who successfully have a professional and personal life that is in harmony have one thing in common: The ability to lead from a solid internal foundation.

It makes the difference.

As one of my clients said:

"In just six months, Heather not only helped me gain the skills to earn a 33% raise (more than 10x my investment); she helped me gain the confidence to know in my gut that I deserved one. The tools and skills Heather offers have a tangible impact and have helped me improve my own life and the lives of the people I serve."

I'll continue to bring this type of transformation to the table through Maven Leadership Consulting.
